Launch of The Entrepreneurship-Focused Socioemotional Skills Learning (ESEL) Program in Bayankhongor Province

The first “Entrepreneurship-Focused Socioemotional Skills Learning (ESEL) Program in Bayankhongor Province” was successfully held in Bayankhongor Province on September 18-25, 2026.  The ESEL Advisor/Teacher Training was commissioned by the Bayankhongor provincial government, funded by Erdene Mongol LLC, and implemented by Save the Children in Mongolia and ESEL master teachers.

  

The training was attended by B.Naranbayar, Deputy Governor of Bayankhongor Province; D.Uugantsetseg, Advisor to the Governor; V. Naranchimeg, Head of the Social Policy Department; L.Ayurzana, Head of the Education Department; B.Dolgormaa, Specialist of the Social Policy Department; S.Batbaatar, representative of Erdene Mongol LLC; Yo.Nyamdavaa, Child Poverty Program Manager at Save the Children in Mongolia.

   

Sixteen teachers/advisors were trained as ESEL teachers/advisors and awarded certificates from an application pool of more than 30 teachers from Gegeen Sumadi, Erdenemandal, and Tugs Algorithm schools. Bayankhongor Province is now fully ready to begin ESEL classes with this new teaching cohort Students from the three schools will be able to expand their soft skills and entrepreneurship knowledge, and to practically test and develop their own business ideas.

The successful localization of the ESEL program in Bayankhongor makes a valuable contribution to the quality of education for children and youth, and to the development of the province and its communities.
