“Mу Forest Child” project

Project goal

Save the Children in Mongolia has launched its first environmental initiative in Nalaikh District in August 2024. To be implemented with funding support from Save the Children Korea, this three-year project aims to plant trees, increase climate change awareness, and support adaptive livelihoods in the community, focusing on engaging children and youth in environmental protection efforts in the target area.

Target area of the project

Key interventions

  1. Tree Planting: Establish a tree nursery in Nalaikh to expand afforestation and green spaces, actively contributing to climate change mitigation efforts and fostering a sustainable environment.
  2. Climate Change Education: Enhance environmental awareness by providing climate education to students in the District’s schools, Polytechnic College Nalaikh and GMIT fostering organizational skills and encouraging active participation in sustainability efforts.
  3. Skills Development: Strengthen ecological knowledge among Nalaikh residents, supporting their involvement in tree planting and fruit cultivation activities to build sustainable, climate-resilient communities.
