Safe to Learn Project: Building inclusive and Resilient Schools in Mongolia

Project Purpose

Save the Children will implement the “SAFE TO LEARN: Building inclusive and Resilient Schools in Mongolia” project in 18 secondary schools and 18 multy disliplinary teams in Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, and Chingeltei districts of Ulaanbaatar city and Bayan-Ulgii, Gobi-Altai, and Khovd aimags in 2026–2028, with funding from the Hong Kong Save the Children grant. The project aims to increase the opportunities for all children to learn and develop in an environment that is equally accessible and respectful of their rights by disseminating proven good practices, evidence-based methodologies, and programs in child protection practices nationwide and ensuring sustainability.

Project Targets

Project Activities

  • Disseminate and institutionalize child protection methodologies and programs developed by Save the Children by securing endorsement from relevant ministries and agencies and strengthen the sustainability of child protection mechanisms within the education sector
  • Provide general education instructors and students with the information and abilities needed to stop, recognize, and address violations of children’s rights, especially bullying by peers
  • Build the capacity of duty-bearers at schools, district, and local levels to provide trauma-informed services to children and to deliver effective response measures through enhanced knowledge and skills
