Vacancy for Child Protection Program Manager

We are currently looking for a dynamic Child Protection (CP) & Child Rights Governance (CRG) Program Manager to lead on the scale-up and award implementation of the relevant projects. The Program Manager will report directly to the Country Manager and will drive the growth of the programs by identifying new opportunities and building strategic partnerships in the sector. The role will support SC’s strategy in Mongolia and expertise in the CP space and lead fundraising efforts from both international and local donors.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, implement and coordinate activities of the ongoing projects on a timely manner meeting the requirements and standards of SC and relevant donors.
  • Develop work plans and track progress on all program objectives, activities, and targets, ensuring that the implementation is towards goals and within budget.
  • Manage and motivate the program staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding of team’s goals and responsibilities and foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Lead the fundraising for child protection, respond to calls for proposals and develop high quality concept notes and project proposals.
  • Implement performance management for the staff including the establishment of clear, measurable objectives, on-going feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Administration and procurement teams to manage supply needs, contracts and expenditures.
  • Prepare timely program and donor reports on CP/CRG project activities and outcomes in compliance with SC standards and relevant donor requirements.
  • Act as the overall budget holder for all active grants/awards and actively empower Coordinators to manage certain budget lines.
  • Develop and compile monthly, progress and other reports for the CP/CRG team and share them with management in consistent and quality fashion.
  • Identify learning and training opportunities for the program staff and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.
  • Assist in the provision of child protection and safeguarding training on a regular basis.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Country Manager.

Who are you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, public policy, law, international development, gender studies, human rights or a related field. Master’s is preferred.
  • Solid experience of managing donor-funded development projects in social sectors
  • Applied team management and leadership skills
  • Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors
  • Experience with a range of implementing partners including NGOs, civil society organizations, multi-laterals and government agencies
  • Good interpersonal, communication, time management and team-building skills.
  • High level of written and spoken English and Mongolian
