About the roles
Save the Children is implementing the “Promoting Sustainable, Holistic and Inclusive Developmental Support in Early Childhood in Mongolia” project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, targeting Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, and Songinokhairkhan districts of Ulaanbaatar City, Bayankhongor and Selenge provinces. We are currently seeking a dynamic Health Project Officer (HPO) to support the implementation of the above project. Working under the overall guidance of the Project Manager and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the HPO will be primarily responsible for implementing activities focused on “Improving the Family Health Center System and Strengthening Capacity” about the early identification and intervention of disabilities and involvement in promoting the development of children 0-5 years old.
The key responsibilities of the PO include planning, executing, and reporting on the Improving the Family Health Center System and Strengthening Capacity activities of the project for local residents. This role involves close collaboration with other project team members to achieve the project’s objectives. Other tasks of the post holder include development and revision of training materials on the importance of early identification and intervention of disabilities, training workshops and design of capacity building activities and materials for staff of target Family Health centers and also promoting stronger collaboration with the Ministy of Health and Health Department in target districts/provinces.
The Health Project Officer will also support the planning and implementation of the DENAN health project, focused on assisting rural hospitals to improve the capacity of medical professionals and provide dental services to remote communities, including herders and children. S/he will support the communication with the donor and provide reports and updates on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Requirements
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in child health, medicine, early childhood development, children with disabilities and public health (Preferably a Master’s degree).
- Has at least five years of relevant technical and professional experience in working with programs on child health, medicine, early childhood development, children with disabilities or public health.
- At least three years of experience working in a medical facility, including Family Health Center
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders, including parents and early children.
- Strong planning, management, and coordination abilities, with the capacity to handle complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in presenting complex information in a clear, concise manner with excellent writing skills.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Mongolian.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the country.
