SC Mongolia is currently looking for an experienced Project Development Coordinator (PDC), who will support the Country Team to secure long-term, high value grants for our work. Reporting to Country Manager (CM), the post holder will lead the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals for major institutional donors as well as other governmental, non-traditional and corporate donors.

Responsibilities:
– Lead the development of concept notes and funding proposals (including log frames and budgets) for a variety of donors, from major institutional donors, corporate organisations, trusts, and private donors, among others.
– Ensure that proposals are developed with highest technical standards in collaboration and consultation with programme managers, technical staff members, the Finance and Administration team (including logistics, infrastructure) and that necessary costs are budgeted adequately.
– Conduct donor mapping in areas relevant to SC Mongolia programs and develop strategies to partner with targeted organizations.
– Manage the proposal development process to ensure proposals and concept notes are developed in a timely manner and with realistic deadlines, and that these are communicated and understood by relevant stakeholders.
– Coordinate both internally and externally, to ensure that all proposals are reviewed from a technical standpoint, and approved by the relevant parties prior to submission.
– Ensure that concept notes and grant proposals are tightly aligned with response strategies, sector program plans, and master budgets and M & E frameworks.
– Produce other information and communications products for both internal and external audiences as required.
– Support the CM in tracking funding opportunities, including calls for proposal, conducting research, grant writing, submission deadlines, and follow up interviews.
– Work closely with the MEAL team to collect information on program monitoring, progress and quality to support ongoing reporting, proposals and other operational management tools.
– Represent Save the Children to donors and other key stakeholders, as needed.
– Support the MEAL team with the planning and implementation of program review exercises incorporating learning into new proposals
– Any other duties as assigned by the Country Manager.
Requirements
– At least 5 years of working experience in humanitarian and development programmes, preferably involving child related activities
– Applied experience of leading the preparation successful funding (narrative and budget) proposals and reports for international donors and organizations
– MSc/MA level education in a relevant subject
– Previous project management and project cycle management experience, including project design, implementation and evaluation
– Good understanding of donor compliance and reporting mechanisms and requirements
– Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines
– Experience with and commitment to working through community participation and accountability systems
– Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
– Budget management and monitoring experience
– Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
– Advanced written and spoken English and Mongolian skills
– Outstanding research and data collection skills
– Ability to work independently, and under pressure
– Strong reasoning, decision-making, and sound judgment
– Willing to travel and work in the field, as required
