GRANT PROJECT MANAGER

Eri Nomoto has been working as a Project Manager of the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Project scheme of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, which is Promoting holistic and inclusive developmental support in early childhood in Mongolia.

Eri joined Save the Children in 2023, and at Save the Children Japan, Eri was in charge of emergency response for the Ukraine crisis in Ukraine and Romania, the Syrian crisis in Turkey, and development support for improving nutrition and livelihoods in Madagascar affected by Climate Change.

Previously, Eri worked at UNICEF Kyrgyzstan as a Programme Support Officer in Health section for two years and was responsible for a newborn home visiting project as part of a Health System Strengthening Programme. At the same time, Eri was a member of the WASH Cluster team for the emergency response to COVID-19.

Before joining UNICEF, Eri worked as a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) volunteer at the Bishkek Community Rehabilitation Center in Kyrgyzstan, providing capacity building to local health workers on the assessment/treatment for children with disabilities. Meanwhile, Eri worked at Bishkek City Perinatal Medical Center to provide technical support to parents/caregivers of premature babies and health workers. Eri is a physiotherapist, and she started her career at an acute general hospital in Japan. During her five years working in a hospital, Eri gained experience in wards including pediatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, pulmonology, intensive care unit (ICU), and neonatal ICU.

Eri completed her master’s degree in International Public Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in UK. Eri’s main background is Health, especially Neonatal and Child Health, Public Health, Rehabilitation and Children with Disabilities.

Eri speaks Japanese, English, Russian, Kyrgyz and a little Mongolian.
