Training held for School Management and IT Instructors in 50 Target Schools
(Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. March 22, 2024) The “Enabling Equity to Advance Learning” project, aimed at enhancing access and quality in education through inclusive approaches, has been implemented since 2022. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science with a grant from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). The project focuses on the development of three priority areas of the education sector: “Inclusive education”, “School food production and services” and “Blended learning”.
A recent milestone under the project was the successful completion of a training course on “Blended Training” held on March 21-22, 2024, in Ulaanbaatar. This training equipped school managers and IT teachers from 50 targeted schools with essential knowledge and skills for implementing blended learning practices.
T. Bat-Erdene, Director of the E- Policy and Statistical Information Department of the Ministry of Education and Culture, delivered opening speech and commended the participants for their dedication to providing equal opportunities to all children, irrespective of time and distance.
L.Bayan-Altai, Country Manager and Representative of Save the Children in Mongolia, highlighted key project initiatives, including the establishment of modern computer labs in the 50 target schools, financial support for training school management and IT staff, pedagogy training for subject teachers, content development methodology workshops, and parent engagement activities to promote blended learning.
The training session featured lectures, presentations, discussions, practical exercises, and knowledge-sharing among participants. Ch. Oyuntulkhuur, Training Manager of the 60th school of the Ulaanbaatar capital city, who participated in the training, said, “We are getting information on many aspects of preparing teachers for blended training, forming teams, organizing, etc. As for our school, the management team is quite competent, so we can lead and manage the blended training at our school level.
Ts. Otgonbaatar, an IT teacher from Myangad soum Elementary School in Khovd Province praised the effectiveness of the training in bridging knowledge gaps and building practical skills for utilizing technical equipment in blended learning environments. The interactive nature of the training allowed teachers to learn from each other’s experiences.
Ch. Munguntuya, Leader of Child Protection Resource Center of Save the Children in Mongolia presented the Child Protection policy for the participants of the training.
Save the Children serves as the Grant Agent for the Global Partnership for Education in this transformative project.
