Project:             Establishing School-Based Child Protection Mechanisms in Mongolia

Duration:          November 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025

Save the Children (SC) is one of the leading independent organizations for children in need. Working in 120 countries, we fight for children’s rights and help them fulfill their potential. Having started its operations in Mongolia in 1994, SC employs now 50 staff members and works in eight provinces, implementing projects in Child Protection, Child Poverty, Education, Climate Change and Health areas.

We are implementing “Establishing School-Based Child Protection Mechanisms in Mongolia” project that aims to strengthen child protection within school settings, providing comprehensive support to schools, boarding schools, parents and children. It will equip teachers with violence-free education methods, foster collaboration between schools and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), and actively engage parents in child protection efforts. Furthermore, it will empower children by promoting their participation, developing their ability to navigate challenges, and fostering peer counseling skills. SC Mongolia is implementing the project through a series of interconnected activities across five districts of Ulaanbaatar city and the provinces of Khovd and Govi-Altai.

We are currently looking for a Project Assistant (PA), who will support the project team to implement the day to day activities. The PA will play an important role in project execution by performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of child protection activities.
  • Support the organization of workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising events.
  • Assist in drafting plans, reports, project proposals, and other relevant documents.
  • Assist in tracking project budgets, ensuring adherence to donor requirements.
  • Contribute to advocacy and communication efforts to promote child protection initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project team as needed.
  • Translate documents and facilitating communication between project stakeholders.
  • Collect and analyzing data to support program monitoring and evaluation.

 The key requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, International Relations, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in social work, child protection or related areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in both Mongolian and English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to target provinces.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with others
