“Mу Forest Child” project
Project goal
Save the Children in Mongolia has launched its first environmental initiative in Nalaikh District in August 2024. To be implemented with funding support from Save the Children Korea, this three-year project aims to plant trees, increase climate change awareness, and support adaptive livelihoods in the community, focusing on engaging children and youth in environmental protection efforts in the target area.
Target area of the project

- Climate Change Education: Enhance environmental awareness by providing climate education to students in the District’s schools, Polytechnic College Nalaikh and GMIT fostering organizational skills and encouraging active participation in sustainability efforts.
- Skills Development: Strengthen ecological knowledge among Nalaikh residents, supporting their involvement in tree planting and fruit cultivation activities to build sustainable, climate-resilient communities.

We are pleased to share the training material “Children Creating a Climate World (Advanced Level).”
“Children Creating a Climate World” is an educational program designed to raise awareness that the climate crisis is also a children’s rights crisis, while strengthening the capacity of children and adolescents to adapt to climate change. The program provides essential knowledge and understanding of climate issues through engaging, learner-centered approaches.
Originally developed by Save the Children Korea, this handbook has been translated into Mongolian and made accessible to the public through the initiative of KOICA volunteers working in Mongolia (2024–2026), with the support of Save the Children Mongolia. In addition, selected examples have been adapted to reflect the Mongolian context.
