We are currently looking for a dynamic Child Protection (CP) & Child Rights Governance (CRG) Program Manager is to lead on the scale-up and award implementation of the relevant projects at SC Mongolia. The CP & CRG Program Manager will report directly to the Country Manager and will be responsible for program management, grant compliance, planning and implementation, budgeting and donor reporting. S/he will also develop and implement technical initiatives and strategize engagement and collaboration with government agencies to strengthen CP policies, regulations, approaches and services.
The role will support SC’s strategy in Mongolia and expertise in the Child Protection space and lead fundraising efforts from both international and local donors. Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and coordinate activities of the Program and its projects on a timely manner meeting the requirements and standards of Save the Children and relevant donors.
- Develop work plans and track progress on all program objectives, activities, and targets, ensuring program implementation is on time, progressing towards targets and within budget.
- Manage and motivate the program staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding of team’s goals and responsibilities and foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Oversee and implement performance management for the program staff including the establishment of clear, measurable objectives, on-going feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations.
- Collaborate with Admin and procurement teams to manage supply needs, contracts and expenditures.
- Prepare timely program and donor reports on CP/CRG project activities and outcomes in compliance with SC standards and relevant donor requirements.
- Act as the overall budget holder for all active grants/awards, and actively empower Coordinators to manage certain budget lines.
- Work with the Finance unit to prepare financial and budgeting requests and ensure the timely planning and reporting of expenditure for projects.
- Lead the fundraising for child protection, respond to calls for proposals and develop high quality concept notes and project proposals.
- Develop and compile monthly, progress and other reports for the CP/CRG team and share them with management in consistent and quality fashion.
- Identify learning and training opportunities for the program staff and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.
- Provide child protection and safeguarding training on a regular basis.
- Establish staff engagement mechanisms and provide feedback and updates to achieve improved results.
- Comply with SC policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Country Manager.
Requirements
- Degree in social or political science, public policy, law, international development, gender studies, human rights, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least three years of experience managing donor-funded international development projects
- At least five years of experience in working on child protection programs
- Applied team management and leadership skills
- Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills
- Good interpersonal, communication, time management and team-building skills.
- High level of written and spoken English
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating child protection programs
- Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection
