Vacancy Announcement for Project Coordinator

SC has been operating in Mongolia since 1994, implementing impactful programs in Child Protection, Child Poverty, Education and Health across Ulaanbaatar and rural provinces.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Project Coordinator (PC) to lead our new initiative – “Safe to Learn: Building Inclusive and Resilient Schools in Mongolia” (2026–2028).
This is a full-time position based in Ulaanbaatar, with regular travel to target provinces.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate and support implementation of project activities across target districts and provinces, ensuring alignment with approved workplans and timelines.
- Facilitate collaboration with schools, education departments, MDTs, and local government partners.
- Support rollout of child protection guidelines, peer bullying prevention strategies, and school-based protection mechanisms.
- Coordinate Training of Trainers (TOT), cascade trainings, workshops, and public campaigns at national and local levels.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Maintain close working relationships with government agencies at national and local and other relevant institutions.
- Support the Project Steering Committee by organizing coordination meetings, reporting on progress, and providing feedback on project strategies, achievements and challenges.
- Support coordination between schools, parents’ councils, MDTs, and service providers.
- Assist in organizing national roundtables, consultations, and experience-sharing events.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, international organizations and implementing partners; engage stakeholders to share results and lessons learned.
- Monitoring, Learning & Reporting
- Support implementation of the project’s monitoring and learning system, including school visits, data collection, and documentation of lessons learned.
- Track progress against outputs and activities, identify implementation challenges, and propose corrective actions.
- Contribute to donor reports, internal progress reports, and learning products.
- Child Participation & Safeguarding
- Support implementation of child-led initiatives such as “I Support My Friends”, peer-led micro-projects, and school campaigns.
- Ensure meaningful child participation across project activities.
- Uphold Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and ensure safe programming principles are applied at all times.
- Coordination on Case Management & MHPSS
- Support coordination of case management, Psychological First Aid (PFA), and trauma-informed care activities in schools and communities.
- Assist in organizing case conferences, supervision sessions, and professional support mechanisms for MDT members and specialists.
- Management and supervision
- Manage and support project staff to perform at an optimal level, ensuring efficient and effective delivery in compliance with donor requirements.
- Prepare and implement annual and quarterly results-based work plans aligned with the project’s logical framework, indicators and targets approved by the donor and management.
- Recruit, manage, and supervise technical experts and consultants as required for project implementation.
- Perform additional duties, such as administration, logistics, communications and translation, and provide support to other team members when required, as directed by the SC Mongolia’s Country Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (law, education, psychology, social work, or a related field). A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of hands-on project and team management experience in child protection, education, social services, or community development, preferably with international NGOs or donor-funded programs.
- Experience working with schools, government institutions and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Applied experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in developing manuals, guidelines, or training materials.
- Good understanding of rights-based and child rights programming.
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office 365, Windows OS and relevant applications.
- Willingness to travel and work in the field as required.
