Vacancy Announcement – Project Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Save the Children Mongolia is currently implementing the “Safe to Learn: Building Inclusive and Resilient Schools in Mongolia” project (2026–2028) in Ulaanbaatar and three target provinces.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Assistant (Maternity Cover) to support the project team in the day-to-day implementation of project activities. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to improving the safety, inclusion, and well-being of children, while supporting meaningful, community-based change across Mongolia. Duty Station
The position is based in Ulaanbaatar, with regular travel to target provinces as required by the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, with a focus on child protection and safe learning environments,
- Support the organization of workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising events,
- Assist in developing work plans, reports, project proposals, and other relevant documentation,
- Support project budget tracking and ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational procedures,
- Contribute to advocacy and communication activities related to child protection and education initiatives,
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project team as required,
- Translate documents and facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders
- Collect, compile, and analyze data to support project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting and
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the project management.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (law, education, psychology, social work, or a related field)
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in social work, child protection, education, social services, community development, or related fields
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in both Mongolian and English
- Good computer skills, including MS Office 365, Windows OS and other relevant applications
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel to target provinces
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
