Minister of Education P.Naranbayar visits Save the Children in Mongolia

Save the Children in Mongolia implements projects and programs in the areas of child protection, education, poverty reduction, health, humanitarian emergency assistance, and climate change. Guided by its vision of a world where every child survives, is protected, develops, and participates, the organization is committed to creating positive, long-term change in children’s lives.

On January 27, 2026, Member of Parliament and Minister of Education P.Naranbayar, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Education, visited Save the Children’s headquarters in Ulaanbaatar. During the visit, they met with the organization’s leadership and staff, learned about its activities, and discussed opportunities for future collaboration.

L.Bayan-Altai, Country Manager and Representative of Save the Children in Mongolia, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit and presented the recent initiatives, particularly in child protection and education. He highlighted resources developed by the organization, including the model framework for child protection in schools, the Good Parenting training manual, and the Child Protection and Teacher Ethics guidebook, noting Save the Children`s interest in working with the Ministry to disseminate these nationwide.

Managers and coordinators provided detailed responses to the Minister’s questions and shared books, manuals, and training materials produced under various projects.

Save the Children has successfully partnered with the Ministry of Education and its agencies on numerous initiatives. One notable example is the project Enabling Equity to Advance Learning, implemented from 2022 to 2025 with funding from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), for which Save the Children served as the financial coordinator.

During the meeting, Minister Naranbayar stated: “Today, by visiting Save the Children, I gained comprehensive information about the projects and programs implemented by the organization. Many of the methodologies and approaches developed under these projects can be directly applied in schools, and we look forward to collaborating further with Save the Children to integrate them. In particular, we are eager to introduce the child protection frameworks and resources for teachers and parents into more schools. We also wish to strengthen inclusive education and expand ESEL entrepreneurship-based life skills training for children and youth. The Ministry of Education is committed to working closely with Save the Children in all areas. I hope today’s meeting marks the beginning of a new phase and turning point in Save the Children’s development in Mongolia.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Save the Children and the Ministry of Education agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the near future to continue their cooperation in specific areas.

Save the Children is an international non-governmental organization working for the well-being of children in more than 100 countries.
