About the Role
SC is implementing the project “Promoting Sustainable, Holistic and Inclusive Developmental Support in Early Childhood in Mongolia,” funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The project targets Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei and Songinokhairkhan districts of Ulaanbaatar, as well as Bayankhongor and Selenge provinces.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified Health Project Officer (HPO) to support the implementation of this project. Under the overall guidance of the Project Manager and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the HPO will lead activities focused on improving the Family Health Center (FHC) system and strengthening capacity, particularly in early identification and intervention of disabilities and in promoting the development of children aged 0–5 years.
Key Responsibilities
The Health Project Officer will:
- Plan, implement and report on activities related to strengthening the Family Health Center system and capacity development for local communities.
- Collaborate closely with project team members to ensure the achievement of project objectives.
- Develop and revise training materials on early identification and intervention of disabilities.
- Design and facilitate training workshops and other capacity-building activities for staff of targeted Family Health Centers.
- Strengthen collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Health Departments in target districts and provinces.
- Support the planning and implementation of the DENAN health project, which focuses on strengthening rural hospitals, improving the capacity of medical professionals and providing dental services to remote communities, including herders and children.
- Maintain communication with the donor and prepare monthly and quarterly reports and updates.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in child health, medicine, early childhood development, children with disabilities, or public health (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in child health, medicine, early childhood development, disability inclusion, or public health programming.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a medical facility, including a Family Health Center.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage multiple stakeholders, including parents and young children.
- Strong planning, coordination and management skills, with the ability to handle diverse and complex responsibilities.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Mongolian.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Mongolia.
