The Entrepreneurship-Focused Socioemotional Skills Learning (ESEL) Program to launch Bayankhongor Province

A signing ceremony to implement the Entrepreneurship-Focused Socioemotional Skills Learning (ESEL) Program in Bayankhongor Province was held on September 7, 2026, at the Teacher Development Palace of Bayankhongor Province. The agreement was signed by representatives of the Bayankhongor Province Governor’s Office, “Erdene Mongol” LLC, and Save the Children in Mongolia (SCM), marking the commencement of their cooperation. The signing ceremony was opened by Mr.E.Enkhbat, Governor of Bayankhongor Province, Ms.B.Suren, General Manager. Compliance & Government Relations of “Erdene Mongol” LLC and Mr.Yo.Nyamdavaa, Manager of Child Poverty Program, Save the Children in Mongolia.

In his opening remarks, Governor. E. Enkhbat, stated “Within the framework of the Year of Education declared at the provincial level, we have brought Save the Children’s special program to our region with the support of Erdene Mongol LLC. Let us work together for the development of our children and youth.”

Ms. B. Suren, added “We are committed to supporting and implementing the ESEL Program in stages.”

The ESEL program develops Grades 8-12 students’ soft skills through entrepreneurship education, practical training, and project-based learning. Save the Children in Mongolia expressed plans to implement additional activities to strengthen the Child Protection Team of the Gegen Sumadi School and Erdenemandal School, where the program will be implemented. ESEL aims to enhance students’ academic success and prepare them for the labor market.

Following the signing ceremony, a project opening seminar was hosted by Save the Children. During the seminar, Mr. Yo. Nyamdavaa introduced the program’s objectives, activities, and areas of cooperation. B. Tserenkhand, SCM Child Protection Project Coordinator, provided a program overview, listened to the participants’ views and feedback, and addressed their questions.

The opening seminar was attended by heads and specialists from the Bayankhongor Province Governor’s Office, the Education Department, the Family Development and Protection Department, the Labor and Welfare Services Department, and other relevant agencies. Principals, training managers, teachers, and student representatives from Gegeen Sum and Erdenemandal schools also participated, along with business organizations, civil society organizations, and media and broadcasting organizations in Bayankhongor Province.
