A year has passed and a new one is beginning. For Save the Children, 2024 was a year of achievements and successes in development and humanitarian activities and projects. Here are the Save the Children\u2019s highlights for 2024.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

1.Save the Children: 30 Years of Supporting Children in Mongolia<\/strong><\/h5>\n

On 15 November 2024, Save the Children Mongolia held a special event celebrating its 30th anniversary in Ulaanbaatar. It was attended by over 200 guests, including Save the Children\u2019s management, staff, partners, and representatives from NGOs, government and international organizations.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2.Save the Children started implementing a Climate Change Mitigation Project<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Mongolia is at the forefront of climate change, ranking among the ten most vulnerable countries according to climate assessments. Save the Children started implementing the \u201cMy Forest Child\u201d project to engage children, parents, and the community in efforts to mitigate climate change, address challenges, and reduce carbon emissions. The project has been funded by Save the Children Korea.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

3.Save the Children started implementing the \u201cPromoting holistic and inclusive developmental support in early childhood in Mongolia\u201d <\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

Save the Children in Mongolia has started implementing the \u201cPromoting holistic and inclusive developmental support in early childhood in Mongolia\u201d project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan since 30th \u00a0of March, 2024. The goal of this project is to identify developmental problems in young children as early as possible and offer them holistic support and needs-based intervention. Target areas are Chingeltei, Bayanzurh and Songinohairkhan districts of Ulaanbaatar city as well as Bayankhongor and Selenge provinces of Mongolia. Equipment for evaluating and supporting child development was provided to five target kindergartens and family health centers, and handrails and ramps were installed in toilets, corridors, and entrances to create an environment that is easy for all children and their families to access. In addition, through this project, 504 people participated in training and meetings on inclusive child development, and 1,938 children received support from the participants who received the training.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

4.Provided humanitarian assistance <\/strong><\/h5>\n

Save the Children has implemented the humanitarian aid program receiving $295,000 in funding. Animal feed and cash assistance were provided to 990 herder households in 15 soums of Uvurkhangai, Uvs, Zavkhan, Gobi-Altai and Sukhbaatar provinces affected by the dzud disaster. Save the Children conducted a humanitarian project in Uvs, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai, Gobi-Altai, and Sukhbaatar provinces. The project provided essential support to 810 herder families across these regions.<\/p>\n

Training has been conducted for a total of 112 teachers, dormitory teachers, and security staff from soum secondary schools in 70 soums across the provinces of Uvurkhangai, Uvs, Zavkhan, Govi-Altai, and Sukhbaatar. A total of 7,734 students also participated in this training.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

5.Protecting Girls from Violence and Exploitation: A Transformative Project\u2019s Results<\/strong><\/h5>\n

From 2021 to 2024, Save the Children, under its Child Protection and Child Rights Governance Programs, implemented the \u201cProtecting Girls from Violence and Exploitation\u201d project. The project utilized a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach, integrating health, child protection, and education services to achieve its objectives. In May 2024, the project\u2019s closing ceremony was held, bringing together all partners and beneficiary representatives.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

6.Save the Children implemented a re-stocking project<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

In the winter of 2023, Sukhbaatar Province saw 44.8 percent of their total livestock die, or more than 1.7 million.\u00a0 Therefore, Save the Children implemented a re-stocking project in Sukhbaatar soum of Sukhbaatar province within the framework of the project \u201cHumanitarian assistance project for herders affected by Dzud in Sukhbaatar and Uvs provinces\u201d, and in June 2024, 19 heads of sheep were donated to each of 30 herder families.<\/p>\n

Training for “Psychological First Aid” Trainers and “Psychological First Aid for Children” has been organized for dormitory staff at general education schools in all soums of Uvs Province.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

7.ESEL Master Teachers have been prepared<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

50 teachers were selected competitively among 545 ESEL teachers and prepared as ESEL Master Teachers for the Entrepreneurship-focused socioemotional learning (ESEL) training program. The Master Teachers would execute a duty to prepare ESEL teachers within the oobjective to ensure the project sustainabilty.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

8.\u201cTogether\u201d awareness raising campaign reached 3.107.326 people on social media<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cTogether\u201d awareness raising social media campaign was carried out from January 29 to February 20, 2024 within the framework of the \u201cPromoting inclusive education for every last child-2\u201d project implemented by the Save the Children Japan, Mongolia. This campaign aimed at improving the knowledge and understanding of parents, the community, and school staff about inclusive education, promoting inclusive culture, and disseminating project results and best practices. As part of the \u201cTogether\u201d campaign, a series of videos, posters, success stories, reel videos and discussions were released and delivered to the public.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
