Save the Children has been implementing the project \u201cPromoting Holistic and Inclusive Developmental Support in Early Childhood in Mongolia\u201d with funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan since March 2024. \u00a0The signing ceremony for the implementation of the subsequent phase of the project was held at the Embassy of Japan on 26 March 2025. H.E. Igawahara Masaru, Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia, and L.Bayan-Altai, Country Manager and Representative of Save the Children Japan, signed the agreement.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Ambassador Igawahara Masaru emphasized in his speech, the project \u201cPromoting Sustainable Holistic and Inclusive Developmental Support in Early Childhood in Mongolia\u201d, \u00a0which has been signed today, will be implemented as a continuation of the project launched last year. In the future, we hope to further strengthen the activities of target organisations within the framework of this project, increase the number of family health centres and kindergartens involved in the project, and establish a system to expand the developmental support provided to children with special needs in early childhood. I sincerely believe that Save the Children Japan and its partners will effectively implement and monitor this project, which is supported by the People of Japan.\u201d<\/p>\n

L.Bayan-Altai, Country Manager and Representative of Save the Children Japan, said the previous year of this project was successfully implemented in the Chingeltei, Bayanzurkh, Songinokhairkhan districts in Ulaanbaatar, as well as Bayankhongor and Selenge provinces. Some of the project\u2019s achievements include the renovation of accessible infrastructure for children and people with special needs in five targeted family health centres and five kindergartens, as well as the installation of ramps, assistive devices, and new sinks and toilets in toilets. The above-mentioned family health centres were also provided with the necessary materials and equipment for early childhood health check-ups and developmental assessments. To meet the educational needs of children requiring developmental support, a new \u201cChild Development Support Room\u201d was established in the targeted kindergartens.\u201d<\/p>\n

The signing ceremony was attended by officials from the Embassy of Japan, Save the Children, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Protection.<\/p>\n

During the signing ceremony, printed materials, including training manuals and newsletters developed under the project, were displayed.<\/p>\n
