A Public Awareness Event for Parents and the Community was held on 6 February 2026 at \u201cAmgalan\u201d Complex school \u00a0under Promoting Sustainable, Holistic, and Inclusive Developmental Support in Early Childhood in Mongolia project.<\/p>\n

The event aimed to enhance parents\u2019 and community members\u2019 knowledge and understanding of the early identification of developmental delays and disabilities among children aged 0\u20135, as well as the importance of early intervention and timely support, by providing free information and face to face consultations for the public.<\/p>\n

At the opening of the event, Ms. Akane Nakamura, Project Manager, stated: \u201cI see everyone gathered here today, as parents and caregivers who deeply love their children, care for their wellbeing, and sincerely wish to contribute to their future. Every child is unique. When parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals recognize these differences, identify children at an early stage, and provide appropriate guidance, children are able to develop their talents, interests, and pursue the paths they aspire to. I hope today\u2019s event helps you find answers to the questions you have.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The event was organized in collaboration with the Mongolian Autism Association, Mongolian Down Syndrome Association, Mongolian National Federation of the Blind, Deaf Education NGO, and Early Intervention and Holistic Development NGO.<\/p>\n

Mrs. G. Uuganbayar, Training Manager of the Mongolian Autism Association, noted: \u201cParents often ask questions about their children\u2019s developmental delays or disabilities for example, when a child is not speaking what kind of support can be provided. Primary school teachers also raise concerns about children who, after two years of schooling, still cannot read, write, or count, and ask how best to support them. It is essential to screen children for developmental concerns and disabilities at 9, 18, and 36 months of age and to provide interventions tailored to each child\u2019s needs before they begin kindergarten or school.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Since 2024, Save the Children in Mongolia has been implementing the project with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, and Songinokhairkhan districts of Ulaanbaatar, as well as Bayankhongor and Selenge provinces. The project aims to establish an integrated and inclusive model for early childhood development support in the target areas, in collaboration with public social service providers, including family health centers, branch commissions, and kindergartens.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
