Mr. Mitsuaki Toyoda, New Business Development and Institutional Partnership Manager and Mongolia Country Director at Save the Children Japan, is visiting Mongolia from March 18 to 26, 2026. During his mission, he visited the \u201cMy Forest Child\u201d project site on March 21 together with Mr. Bayan-Altai Luvsandorj, Country Manager of Save the Children in Mongolia, to observe the project\u2019s implementation on the ground.<\/p>\n

The project team provided an overview of the ongoing activities.\u00a0As of 2026, more than 4,100 trees of 23 different species have been planted at the \u201cMy Forest Child\u201d project site, with the participation of over 1,000 residents, 82% of whom are children. The project has also established a fence, constructed two greenhouses, and installed a solar-powered irrigation system.\u00a0In addition, as part of its efforts to enhance environmental awareness among local residents, three sets of climate change guidelines have been developed for trainers, adults, and children. Furthermore, 50 trainers have been trained, and more than 2,000 people have participated in climate change training sessions.<\/p>\n

Mr. Mitsuaki Toyoda expressed his satisfaction with the project\u2019s progress and achievements, noting that it could serve as a strong model for replication in other parts of Mongolia. During his visit, a spruce tree planted at the site was presented in honor of Save the Children Japan.<\/p>\n

Funded by Save the Children Korea, the \u201cMy Forest Child\u201d project aims to establish a five-hectare tree plantation in Nalaikh District to contribute to climate change mitigation.
